# Flair (Belgium) features PERIOD.: on the luteal phase and cycle apps

Nice news from Belgium: **Flair**, one of Flanders' best-known women's magazines, interviewed our founder **Lisa Volkers** about PERIOD. the luteal phase, and what's wrong with today's generation of cycle apps.

👉 [Read the full interview on flair.be](https://www.flair.be/nl/talks/interviews/lisa-volkers-cyclus-app-period-luteale-fase/) (in Dutch)

## Why this interview?

Flair zooms in on something many women run into but rarely talk about openly: the **luteal phase**, the stretch between ovulation and your period, when hormones swing, energy shifts, and mood, sleep and skin all move with them. Not "PMS whining", just biology.

In the interview, Lisa explains how PERIOD. came out of frustration: existing apps either felt like billboards or like data factories. What was missing was an honest, Dutch-language cycle tracker that takes your body seriously, no pink, no ads, no quietly selling your intimate data.

## The luteal phase, quickly

The luteal phase lasts roughly 12 to 14 days and starts after ovulation. Progesterone takes the lead. Many women notice:

- A small energy dip and more need for rest

- Mood that swings, sometimes more irritable or emotional

- Changes in sleep, appetite and libido

- More sensitive skin and breasts

This isn't drama. It's your cycle doing its job. PERIOD. helps you not only *predict* this phase but *understand* it, with daily context that moves along with where you are in your cycle.

## Why Flair (and Belgium) matters to us

PERIOD. was built in the Netherlands, but the conversations we have, about privacy, about the luteal phase, about how technology can help women instead of milking them, don't stop at the Dutch border. [Flair](https://www.flair.be) picking this up means a lot: it's a magazine that has been listening to what women actually care about for decades.
